Uninterrupted and Interactive

A synthesizer convention like Knobcon can be a noisy place, which isn't exactly the perfect environment to explore a new piece of musical equipment in depth. That is why we've created the Knobcon Demo Derby where you can spend some quiet time learning the personality of a curated system.

Access to these systems will be first-come, first-serve. We haven’t worked out all the details yet, but we expect to have a sign-up sheet for available time-slots. Sign up for Saturday’s early time slots will begin on Friday for those attending the reception, but we will hold a portion of available slots open for those coming Saturday and Sunday.

Want to Curate a Demo System?

We aren't limiting demo systems to manufacturers - anyone can curate a system for the Demo Derby! There are a few special requirements listed below. If you are interested, please contact us!

  1. The entire system must fit on one table or in a 6’ x 6’ area (you must provide all stands)
  2. Systems must be set up before the show begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, and remain available until Sunday at 4 p.m.
  3. Have provision for mixing/headphone monitoring
  4. Provide final stereo output
  5. System must contain needed accessories (patch cables, head phones etc)
  6. Must have quick start sheet explaining the basics of the system
  7. Provide a detailed inventory of what the system contains (will be used to ensure cables don’t walk away)
